On January 31, 1893, a group of people met for the purpose of organizing a Lutheran congregation under the leadership of E. B. Slettedal. Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Bremerton, Washington was incorporated on March 15, 1893. The first church was built on Fourth Street. During World War II many people from other states migrated to this area and lived in temporary housing projects.
